I got my start in marketing because I learned the hard way what happens when you don’t invest in it. I was a small business owner who had an innovative service, but no marketing to support it. I thought if you build it they will come. But that just isn’t true, especially for businesses without the advantage of having high traffic street corner lots.
The company I owned was G Force Aerobatics. It was a flight school that specialized in aviation safety. We taught pilots how to be safer and more skilled through aerobatic flight training. I struggled getting leads and customers because I had no idea how to market or get noticed online. My competitors were busy, yet my sales were slow to take off even though I had lower prices and a stronger program. I couldn’t figure it out.
Then I built my first website. Back then I had no idea what made a good website versus a bad one and that if not designed properly, it could actually hurt your marketing. My website wasn’t anything special but it did help bring in customers with advertising. But because I hadn’t yet learned about SEO and converting websites, it was lost on page 100 (or worse) of Google.
Then just as I was starting to build some success, the economic crash of 2008 happened. And since I had no online presence and weak marketing, my business ended while my competitors survived (and are still in business today). I learned that to have long term success in business and to weather economic downturns, you need two key things: innovation AND effective marketing. So I decided to make it my mission to get educated on marketing.
Since then I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours learning the art and science of marketing from the best marketers in the business; names like Jeff Walker, Eben Pagan, Jeff Johnson, Russell Brunson, Dean Graziosi, as well as Aidan Booth and Steve Clayton (the founders of PinPoint Local). I’ve implemented these strategies with great success for my own marketing company and for local businesses in Franklin and Nashville.
Getting your company’s website ranked high on search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo will not only make your more money but it will also help you survive a weaker economy. And combine that with having a strategically designed website that gets customers to visit your store or call you is what we specialize in.
