I have been in the information technology field for over 30 years, starting my career with Unisys then as part of an IBM integrator for almost a decade, and then several independent software and IT services companies, including one of my own. I have learned it is all about service, if you are going to build strong relationships with customers and a successful company. Doing what you say you will do when you say you will do it; that goes a long ways in the world of information technology services.
I did my undergraduate work at University of Arizona in Tucson and was always envious of friends that attended Northern Arizona, simply for the climate, smaller cities and pace of life. Attending graduate school in Texas, and accepting a position with Unisys, it took a long while getting back to Arizona, but Marie and I have been fortunate enough to settle in the Verde Valley, specifically in Clarkdale, and are enjoying the community here, serving in Verde Valley Community Church in Cottonwood and exploring the many wonders of Northern Arizona. Marie used many software applications in her 21 years with an organ procurement organization. She is great at working with our clients and, although we think some days can be hectic from activity, this is a walk in the park compared to interacting with families under the stress and burden of dealing with a loved one becoming an organ donor and helping them navigate that path. Her job had that but also the joy of being part of the organization procuring a life saving organ for the recipient. Her organizational skills are of tremendous value to us and help me keep it between the ditches, to fall back on an old Texas saying.
